Make USB Drive Write Protected
You might be having some secure data on your PC which you don’t want other user to copy through USB. You can do that by putting a write protection registry hack on your computer.This Hack will work only on Windows Xp SP2 or better and also works on Windows 7.
To enable write protection on USB follow following steps –
- Go To Start > Run.
- Type ‘Regedit’ in run dialog.
- browser to Go to ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlStorageDevicePolicies‘.
- Create a DWORD value called ‘WriteProtect‘ and set it to 1.
- This will disable writing on USB drive, you can still read from USB device. To enable writing change it’s value to 0 or delete the key.
